Tax Manager

I have been working for Cube for the past 4 years and in that time the business has grown considerably. Since joining the business I have seen its client base increase dramatically in terms of the number of clients that we get involved with and act for whilst also developing a much wider variety of clients each with different needs and aspirations. The business has always prided itself on providing an excellent level of service whilst also working hard to develop good relationships with our clients.

As the personal tax manager of the business my primary role is to deal with the compliance side of our clients personal tax affairs. This can involve preparing sole-trade or partnership accounts, rental accounts and/or working with the accounts department to establish what dividends a director should be voted to try and minimise their tax liabilities. I also manage our client’s payroll needs whilst dealing with any ad-hoc tax planning work for our clients.

Cube always encourages its staff with both internal and external training courses designed to ensure that we are always maintaining and keeping our knowledge up to date. The business is also extremely supportive and encouraging of members of staff who wish to undertake professional exams.

My role is primarily office based and I enjoy the freedom of being able to plan my work on a daily basis and ensuring that the necessary deadlines for our clients are met on a timely basis. I enjoy working with our clients and encouraging/nagging(!) them to provide me with the relevant information so that we can ensure their tax returns are filed by the due date. My role as the personal tax manager means I am greatly involved in trying to minimise our client’s tax liabilities and it’s always satisfying when you manage to make tax savings for the client based on the work you’ve carried out.
